RetroFit’s Patch Management proactively manages your desktops and servers by identifying, evaluating, deploying, and maintaining patches to keep your infrastructure running smoothly. RetroFit’s all-inclusive approach to patch management includes:
- Patch Identification - RetroFit identifies and acquires the most up-to-date patches from major operating systems and known vendors
- Patch Evaluation – RetroFit researches and tests each patch prior to deploying to your network.
- Patch Deployment – Once a patch has been thoroughly evaluated and tested, it will be deployed to your network. White listed security patches are deployed on desktops Thursday through Monday on a predefined set of hours. RetroFit deploys patches to your servers on a weekly basis.
- Patch Management – RetroFit proactively and continuously monitors your network to ensure maximum uptime
Patch Categorization
RetroFit conducts thorough testing of patches prior to deployment. We will not deploy a patch unless we are completely satisfied with the safety of the patch. RetroFit classifies all patches in the following manner:
- White Listed – This patch is installed on your system without any known issues.
- Black Listed – This patch may create issues with your operating system and/or application associated with the patch. RetroFit will not deploy this patch to your system until it is categorized as White Listed.
- Conditional Black Listed – This patch has been conditionally Black Listed due to an issue with an application, certain hardware, BIOS version, etc. RetroFit will not deploy this patch to your system until it is categorized as White Listed.
- Under Review – As a practice, RetroFit reviews any new security patches for a minimum of 2 weeks (unless it is a hyper critical zero day attack patch).
